The chemistry program at the Madera Center offers general education, pre-medical professional and traditional year-long general chemistry sequence courses for science majors. There are research opportunities for students in environmental chemistry topics and work experience in our stockroom and in the teaching labs. The Science Club participates in science outreach, off campus events, and invites speakers to campus. Chemistry courses prepare students for fields in nursing, medicine, laboratory work, transfer science majors and graduate school.

Sequence classes are labeled with an A and B suffix. A - courses are offered in the fall and B - courses are offered in the spring. Some off sequence classes are offered but this is an exception. In the near future we hope to be able to offer the year-long organic chemistry (28, 29, A and B) sequence for science majors. If you haven’t taken a chemistry class with a lab component, chemistry 3A is a great place to start.
