Measure C & E

Measure E, passed in 2002, was a bond measure that also gave the District the authority to leverage its $161 million proceeds to acquire an additional $51 million in state funds to finance a new Fresno City College Career & Technology campus that would include the Police Academy and Fire Academy. When the recession depleted the state funds, the Career & Technology project was delayed. The District has allocated the remaining $30 million of Measure E so it could build the academies when additional funds became available. The $30 million from Measure E along with proceeds from Measure C will be used to fulfill the District’s original 2002 commitment to the voters to build the Police Academy and the Fire Academy without the reliance on state funding. Updates on the academies will be provided as progress is made.
